Home Depot now offers a 2-hour express delivery service, allowing shoppers to receive eligible items within a short window without needing a membership.

Service details and eligibility

The program was announced in August 2026 with a three-hour promise, then revised in September to guarantee delivery in under two hours. It applies to thousands of SKUs, including power tools, plumbing supplies, paint, electrical equipment and routine project materials.

Customers select the express option at checkout and pay a flat fee, typically between $7 and $10 per order. The fee is added regardless of order size, and no subscription or loyalty program is required. Because the charge does not depend on the number of items, shoppers can bundle several tools in a single purchase without incurring extra cost, making it easier to plan larger projects.

Logistics and store network

More than 2,000 Home Depot locations across the United States act as local fulfillment hubs for the express service. Orders are pulled from inventory at the nearest participating store, enabling rapid dispatch.

Its range of brands is extensive. While competitors such as Walmart and Amazon carry tools, they often lack major brands like Milwaukee, Ryobi and Ridgid, which are readily available through the express program. The retailer’s inventory includes both premium and budget-friendly options, ensuring that a wide spectrum of buyers can find suitable products.

In a market where fast shipping has become an expectation, the two-hour window can reduce the need for multiple store trips. For independent contractors or homeowners juggling projects, the speed may translate into saved time and fewer interruptions.

Additional delivery options

The retailer also provides free same-day delivery on orders over $25 placed before 4 p.m. This service covers up to 65 percent of in-stock items, offering a convenient alternative for urgent purchases. Orders placed before the cutoff are processed that afternoon, allowing the courier network to begin the delivery route the same day.

For larger items such as appliances, the retailer offers next-day delivery to roughly 60 percent of U.S. households. Customers in areas not covered by the express network still benefit from the next-day option, which reaches the majority of households within a single business day after purchase.
