Eames Pavilion System on display at Orgatec
Eames Pavilion System, a flexible modular design on display at Orgatec, featuring a clear grid and compact footprint.

From 27 to 30 October 2026, Orgatec will present a special exhibition showcasing the Eames Pavilion System, a flexible modular design produced by Kettal in collaboration with the Eames Office. The exhibition will feature two walk-in versions of the system, along with selected exhibits and materials from the Eames Office archive.
The Eames Pavilion System is based on the principle of achieving maximum volume with a small footprint, paired with a clear grid and an understanding of architecture as an adaptable system. This concept is deeply rooted in the work of Charles and Ray Eames, who believed in creating flexible frameworks for contemporary living.
Maik Fischer, director of Orgatec, states that the Eames Pavilion System is a piece of design history. It ties in directly with Orgatec’s central theme, “From rooms to relationships: designing spaces in an ever-changing world.”

The Eames Office worked closely with Spanish manufacturer Kettal to study the Eames’s completed and unbuilt residential projects, including their own home, the Eames House in Los Angeles. They aimed to translate the logic of the original design into contemporary materials and production, while maintaining its clarity and modularity.
Repeatable structural modules can be combined with different roof types, façade elements, glazing, textiles, and accessories, allowing the modular building system to be configured flexibly for a wide range of applications. The exhibition will display extensive archival research, including historical designs, archival drawings, films, and photographs, to provide a window into previously little-known projects and materials from the Eames Office collection.
Trade visitors can experience the special exhibition in Hall 10.2, Stand N-048, from 27 to 30 October 2026. Tickets and more information are available at www.orgatec.com.
