WTF Did I Miss This Week? #56 (w/c 30/10/17)

With NaNoWriMo starting and Blogtober finishing, I’ve been a little absent this week. There’s going to be news missing from this round up. Sorry, but I’ve been busy!

But this is as much news as I can find from around the internet in an hour. Not as catchy as a title, but more accurate…

The publishing world:

*new releases klaxon*:
In other news:
  • Patrick Rothfuss‘s Kingkiller Chronicle series has been picked up by Showtime.
  • There’s going to be a ‘Paper Bag Princess’ movie!

The music industry:

A handful of new releases:

American Fall by Anti-Flag Dark Divine by Like Moths To Flames Overexposed by Sleep On It The Dusk In Us by Converge The Mortal Coil by Polaris

And some new music to pump through your speakers:

No longer Natural Blues, Waterparks have gone ‘Blonde’:

Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes shared their ‘Spray Paint Love’:

‘Call It What You Want’, but one thing you can call it is a new Taylor Swift track:

While there are ‘Good Times’ in the new All Time Low video:

Also released this week, new music from Don Broco, Escape The Fate, Attila, Blood Youth, The Used, The Dear Hunter, Speak The Truth… Even If Your Voice Shakes, Fickle Friends, Frank Turner, Owl City, Turnstile, Pinegrove, I See Stars, Deaf Havana, SayWeCanFly and Black Veil Brides.

  • The Fratellis next album, ‘In Your Own Sweet Time’, is being released via Cooking Vinyl on March 9th.
In other news:
  • The festival announcements are coming in thick and fast. This week, line-ups were announced for Manchester Punk Festival and Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park, with a line-up for Download Festival coming in the morning.
  • Though it was unclear last week, turns out Every Time I Die are ACTUALLY being sued. Wowee.
  • There’s going to be a Bay Area Benefit, raising money following the recent wildfires. Check out the line-up here.
  • Sadly, Mike Hudson of The Pagans passed away at 61. RIP.
  • Ethan Kath of Crystal Castles is suing ex-frontwoman Alice Glass, who claimed that he raped her.

See? Not as much news as normal, which means it was either a slow week or I have forgotten to include some things. Sorry about that. At least NaNoWriMo is going great!
