I’m not a fitness nut. I walk everywhere I go, but other than that exercising and me are not best friends. That’s made this Top Five Wednesday topic extremely difficult, because I’m not envious of any fitness routines!
After a lot of thinking, I’ve managed to scrape together five different characters whose fitness routines wouldn’t be terrible.
5) Katniss Everdeen – the Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins
My grandmother used to do archery, so I’d love to learn the sport. It was hard to decide between Katniss and Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead, but Katniss’s manual bow and arrow seems far more difficult to learn, and I like a challenge!
4) Any Quidditch player – the Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling
To stay on their broomsticks for so longer, all of the fitness routines must include an insane amount of squats. I enjoy squats, so I’d be good at that! Quidditch is also great for hand-eye co-ordination and team-building… A pretty good sport, without the running that football involves.
3) Darrow – the Red Rising trilogy by Pierce Brown
I know, I know, I mention Red Rising at every possible opportunity. But Darrow is BEEFY, man. Yeah, he’s carved, and that greatly enhances his physical abilities, but he’s already ripped from constantly working in the mines. It would take far too much effort, but it would be cool to be this insanely strong.
2) Michonne – The Walking Dead
When we meet Michonne, she’s wandering the countryside with her two walker companions. I’ve already mentioned that I’m a huge fan of walking, so I’m not opposed to this! But the rest of Michonne’s fitness routine must be pretty solid, too. She has no problems decapitating walkers left, right and centre with her katana, meaning she has bitching upper body strength.
1) Tris – the Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth
Tris’s fitness routine itself doesn’t spark much jealousy, but her workout partner definitely brightens up the prospect. Moving from Abnegation to Dauntless, Tris doesn’t have much experience of fighting, either. This fitness routine is clearly for beginners, which appeals to me!
I hope you enjoyed this Top Five Wednesday. Are there any fitness routines you’d really like to take up?
