May wrap-up

We’re almost a week in to June and I’m only just writing my May wrap-up, whoops! May was a pretty difficult month for me. I’m not sure why, but I’ve really found myself in a funk recently. It’s disappointing, but I suppose we all feel like this at some stage in our lives.

Bookish wrap-up:

In May, I read 13 books. That’s one up on last month, so I’m counting it as a win!

The best books I read in May?:

Crongton Knights cover Doing It cover The Smell of Other People's Houses cover

I rated all of the above books 5 stars. Click on their covers to read my reviews!

I also adored ‘When Dimple Met Rishi‘ by Sandhya Menon, which was another 5 star read. Come back tomorrow to check out my review in my stop on the blog tour!

The worst book I read in May?:

Riverkeep cover

‘Riverkeep’ was the only book I gave a 1 star rating to this month. I hated it. I read a few average books this month, but this one was the only one which made me angry.

Musical wrap-up:

I didn’t actually have time to listen to any of the new releases this month. Purely because it’s Paramore, I’m going to award album of the month to ‘After Laughter’:

After Laughter

Was there any doubt in your mind what my song of the month was going to be? Of course it’s ‘Heaven’, the new PVRIS track!:

Which means it’s no surprise that my concert of the month was PVRIS’s first night at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London. I can’t get enough of this band. I’m so glad that they’re back and making new music. Their new album, ‘All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell’, is being released in September… Spoiler alert: that’s going to be my September album of the month for sure!

That was my May! How was your month?
