TOP FIVE WEDNESDAY: Top five books on my summer TBR

(Top Five Wednesday was created by GingerReadsLainey. Find out more at the Goodreads group!)

It’s been less than a year since we last had summer reads as a topic, and I couldn’t think of any new titles to feature. I could have mentioned the ‘Summer Days and Summer Nights’ anthology edited by Stephanie Perkins, but I didn’t love that one, so I’ve decided to talk about the five books I am DETERMINED to read this summer instead.

5) ‘Always and Forever, Lara Jean’ by Jenny Han

I loved ‘To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before’, but I haven’t been able to bring myself to continue on with the series – I’m too nervous in case it doesn’t meet my expectations! The last book in the trilogy came out a couple of weeks ago, so I’m planning on binge reading all three during the next few months.

4) ‘The Island at the End of Everything’ by Kiran Millwood Hargrave

I loved Kiran’s debut novel, ‘The Girl of Ink and Stars’, and so did the world: it’s won more literary awards than I can count, and it’s not slowing down yet. Since meeting Kiran a couple of weeks ago I’ve been looking forward to reading ‘The Island at the End of Everything’, and I think it’s going to be a perfect fast read during the summer months.

3) ‘Isla and the Happily Ever After’ by Stephanie Perkins

How many times can I put this book on a TBR list and still not read it?! I’ve been talking about the fact that I want to finish Stephanie Perkins’ companion trilogy since last January, and I haven’t been able to bring myself to pick it up. I enjoyed the first two so much, and I don’t want them to be over!

2) ‘If Birds Fly Back’ by Carlie Sorosiak

I have to read ‘If Birds Fly Back’ this summer, because My Kinda Book kindly sent me an ARC! I’m hoping to pick this one up before publication at the end of June. I’ve been excited about it since it was announced, so I know I’m going to fly through it.

1) ‘Since You’ve Been Gone’ by Morgan Matson

I still haven’t read a Morgan Matson book. I KNOW, WHAT’S WRONG WITH ME?! ‘Since You’ve Been Gone’ has been on my shelf the longest, so I want to tackle it first.
I hope you enjoyed this Top Five Wednesday! What books are you planning on reading this summer?
